26.5 GHz 4-port VNA, with dual source option and a 2-port mmWave controller.
This setup can be used with VDI frequency extenders upto 1.5 THz, via the mmWave controller, or used directly as a 4-port VNA.
Direct VNA use:
Turn off mmWave controller. Ensure ALL front-panel jumpers are plugged in. Use of ports 3 and 4 is preferred for 2-port measurements, as port 1 is usually connected via rigid coax to the mmWave source input. If 4-port measurement is needed, this may be disconnected.
In the software, disable mmWave controller (Instrument->External Devices->Millimeter-wave config, select "Standard PNA" in resulting window). Preset the instrument.
Use with mmWave controller (all frequency extender bands except WR-1.0/WM250):
Turn on mmWave controller. Ensure port 1 is connect to source input. Ensure ALL front-panel jumpers are plugged in. On the rear of the instrument, check the following:
1) Jumper on mmWave controller for source
2) LO out from VNA -> mmWave controller
3) A, B, R1, R2 from mmWave controller -> VNA
4) 50 ohm termination on RF out on back panel.
5) 8dB attenuators in-line with the RF and LO lines on the front-panel of the mmWave controller.
6) mmWave IO connector is connected to the VNA
Enable mmWave controller (Instrument->External Devices->Millimeter-wave config, select the appropriate band).
For WR-1.0/WM250, please check tool 866 for instructions.
